      Embarrassing Facial Hair

Hair removal of embarrassing facial hair

The human body is a complex machine that performs several incredibly complicated balancing acts. If the myriad of chemicals and hormones that maintain your body’s status quo are off kilter for whatever reason, then one of the unfortunate side effects can be unwanted hair on your body and face.

This extra hair may show itself right from birth, but in most cases, it makes an appearance after puberty. However, this problem can occur at any age due to a change in your body’s hormonal rhythms. If this hair is light and fine, you can ignore it as much as possible. But usually this hair is coarser than the hair on top of your head. The three main areas that this growth shows itself on the face are above the eyes, under the temples and around the mouth. There are some very simple steps you can take to minimise the appearance of these hairs however, with a method that suits you. The most important thing to remember is to never use a razor on your face. Shaving off this hair will make it grow back coarser and even more visible.

      Around the Mouth: Upper Lip

Every woman has hair on her upper lip, but it may be thicker and darker in some. This is a good place to use Cold Wax Facial Strips. Test a patch of skin on your thigh or arm before you apply the strip on your face. If your skin does not show an adverse reaction, use it as directed on your upper lip and pull away using the special Easy Grip™ tab to leave you with a beautifully smooth lip for up to four weeks. If you wish to avoid waxing, another option could be bleaching. Bleached hairs can blend with your skin tone, meaning they’ll be invisible unless you’re standing under a light or are out in the sun.

      Around the Mouth: Chin

These hairs are usually few and sparse, so the best technique would be to pluck these with tweezers, or to use Cold Wax Strips. It shouldn’t take too long, and shouldn’t be too painful! Removing these hairs at the root means that they will take a long time to grow back, usually up to four weeks. Another advantage is that you can finish clearing out this area with just one pull of the waxing strip!

      Above the Eyes: Brow
Lots of women would kill for a pair of thick dark eyebrows like Beren Saat or Audrey Hepburn (even though hers were almost completely drawn on!) But those with full, thick brows will tell you that it is both a blessing and a curse. Having to tame unruly brow hairs to make sure you stay looking more An American in Paris, than An American Werewolf in London can be a chore. The best way to keep these looking shapely is to use a precision wax product, as these can ensure you get the straight and even lines you want.

      Above the Eyes: Uni-Brow
Depending on how many hairs you have here, waxing or plucking could be the best option. The most important thing to remember is not to use a razor! Shaving can leave unnatural straight ends to the brow, as well as creating stubble within just a few days.

If you feel that the hair on your face and body is much thicker than average, it may be worthwhile to visit your doctor, because this can sometimes be a symptom of a more serious endocrinal issue. This is particularly relevant if this change comes on abruplty and isn’t associated to hormonal changes brought on by puberty, pregnancy, or the menopause.
